Richard B. Riddick, the most dangerous criminal in the known universe. He's not the person you'd like in your prison "van", especially when it crashes. Now imagine its the future, that van is a spaceship and you're passing a desert planet. The ship is hit by space debris that sends you crashing to the planet below. Unlike on Earth where help is nearby, on this planet there is no such support. You now have to survive as best you can whilst still with Riddick in confinement. It turns out you may need his help so you make a deal. This planet has three suns but once every so often, there's an eclipse and when that happens, the native inhabitents come out and feed. Riddick is different to everyone else because his eyes have been adapted to see in the dark. The sequel 'Chronicles of Riddick' is in production. The only other character carried over from the first film is the young boy who turns out to be a girl ( Kyra ). Both Riddick and Kyra have been captured but its not long before they escape, only to find themselves in a worst situation than they are in now. Two galactic factions are squaring up for war, the only person who could resolve the situation is Riddick.

Kyra
Could you please revise your summary a little? In Pitch Black, there was a girl named Jack. In Chronicles of Riddick, there was a skankorama named Kyra who CLAIMED to be Jack despite looking and acting nothing like her. Even Riddick didn't seem to buy it and god knows Jack's fans didn't. We're HOPING that if that piece of crap film gets a further sequel, they'll clarify that Kyra the Wonder Twit WASN'T Jack after all... in the meantime, could you TRY to keep the characters a little bit separate for those of us who want to vomit when we look at Alexa Davalos?
