Before Firefly, there was Bravestarr, the 'Cowboy and Western' cartoon series set on a distant planet called New Texas. If you've forgotten him, maybe his description of powers will jog your memory.

It is a desolate planet much like the land you see in many C&W films e.g. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. Its native inhabitents are prairie people who resemble
prairie dogs. Bravestarr is a native american who is the Sheriff of the
area. The planet has huge supplies of the ore Kerium which attracts the galaxies scum. The biggest scum on the island is Tex Hex who leads a group of marauding criminals. Bravestarr is helped by a number of people including Shaman, Thirty/Thirty and Judge J.B. McBride who provides
the romantic interest for Bravestar. Thirty Thirty is the name of his horse that doubles up as his support with his weapon he calls Sara-Jane.
Because of its theme, it won't probably be too long before it is turned into a full live action film. A cartoon upgrade film won't do it real justice. |
